Emergency Hygiene Kits

How can you help the communities affected by Hurricanes Harvey and Irma? APHSA and NSDTA are partnering with a Houston-based non-profit, DePelchin Children's Center, to provide Emergency Hygiene Relief kits and financial donations. We are in the process of identifying a similar organization to support and assist communities in Florida.

There are two ways you can participate in this effort:

Here is a fun challenge for you as you come to NSDTA: We have just completed the AASD/NASTA Conference in Memphis and the attendees brought approximately 200 Emergency Hygiene Relief kits to send to Houston. So, make a little room in your suitcase for one, two or three kits - or - do as Pennsylvania did and bring two large suitcases of kits!

Emergency Hygiene Kits

Emergency hygiene kits have been identified as a much-needed item by emergency responders. All kits must be in a clear quart or gallon-size Ziploc-style bag. It is suggested that you write a short encouraging note to include with your kit. No kits will be assembled at the conference.

The following items represent a complete kit for one individual (travel size if possible):

Tuck a couple in your suitcase and let's show our collective support for the residents of Houston and Florida. As a reminder, please bring completed kit(s). Drop your completed kits at the donation table which will be set up near registration.
